Compressed air dryers are machines used to dry compressed air. The main types include refrigerated, adsorption, and membrane dryers, widely used in various industrial fields such as machining, electronics and semiconductors, food and pharmaceuticals, and automobile manufacturing.
Refrigerated compressed air dryers utilize the principle of cooling air to lower its temperature, condensing the moisture in humid air to remove it, resulting in drier air. Their energy efficiency depends on the internal pressure drop and the power consumption of the dryer. Some products employ variable frequency control systems to automatically adjust the cooling capacity according to the load and use environmentally friendly refrigerants such as R410A and high-efficiency three-in-one plate-fin heat exchangers. Adsorption compressed air dryers utilize the principle of pressure swing adsorption. When humid air passes through an adsorbent, the moisture is adsorbed, resulting in dry air. Depending on the adsorbent regeneration method, they can be classified into heatless regeneration, heated (micro-heated) regeneration, forced-air hot regeneration, and compression hot regeneration types. Some products can achieve pressure dew points as low as -20°C or even -90°C.
