Compressed air dryers mainly include three types: refrigerated, adsorption, and membrane dryers, to meet different industrial needs. Refrigerated dryers are suitable for most general industrial needs, adsorption dryers are suitable for high-end manufacturing fields requiring ultra-low dew points, and membrane dryers are suitable for applications with small throughput, requiring quiet operation and easy maintenance.
Refrigerated dryers work on the principle of refrigeration technology. By cooling compressed air, the water vapor in it condenses into liquid water, which is then separated and discharged through an air-water separator, thus achieving the purpose of drying the compressed air. Refrigerated dryers are divided into air-cooled and water-cooled types. Their pressure dew point can typically be reduced to 2-10°C. The advantages of refrigerated dryers include relatively low operating costs, large throughput, and relatively simple equipment structure. Their limitations are that they cannot achieve ultra-low dew points, and their drying capacity decreases at higher ambient temperatures.
