1. Install Silencers
The main noise sources are the intake and exhaust ports, so appropriate intake and exhaust silencers should be selected. The intake noise spectrum of an air compressor exhibits low-frequency characteristics; therefore, the intake silencer should be of a reactive structure or a composite structure with reactive and impermeable properties as the main components. The exhaust pressure and airflow velocity of the air compressor are high, so a small-hole silencer should be used at the exhaust port.
2. Construct a Silencer Tunnels
Silencer tunnels are underground or semi-underground tunnels, with walls constructed of sound-absorbing bricks. The air compressor's intake pipe is connected to the silencer tunnel, allowing air to enter the air compressor through the tunnel. Using silencer tunnels can significantly reduce the intake noise of the air compressor and extends its service life compared to ordinary silencers.
3. Install a soundproof enclosure. After installing silencers or setting up soundproof tunnels at the air compressor's inlet and outlet, the airflow noise can be reduced to below 80 dB(A). However, the mechanical noise and motor noise of the air compressor are still very high. Therefore, a soundproof enclosure should also be installed on the air compressor unit.
