Precautions For Air Compressors

1. The air compressor should be parked away from steam, gas, and dust. The intake pipe should be equipped with a filter. After the air compressor is in place, it should be symmetrically wedged with pads

2. Keep the exterior of the storage tank clean at all times. Welding or heat treatment is prohibited near the storage tank. The storage tank should be subjected to a hydrostatic test annually, with the test pressure being 1.5 times the working pressure. The pressure gauge and safety valve should be inspected annually

3. Operators should receive specialized training and must have a comprehensive understanding of the structure, performance, and function of the air compressor and its auxiliary equipment, and be familiar with the operating and maintenance procedures.

4. Operators should wear appropriate work clothes, and female operators should tuck their braids into their work caps. Operating under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Operators must not engage in activities unrelated to operation, must not leave their posts without authorization, and must not appoint non-operators to replace them .

5. Before starting the air compressor, perform the required checks and preparations, and ensure all valves on the storage tank are open. After starting the diesel engine, it must be heated and run at low speed, medium speed, and rated speed. Only after ensuring all instrument readings are normal can it be operated under load. The air compressor should be started with gradually increasing load, and only after all parts are normal can it be operated at full load .

6. During the operation of the air compressor, pay close attention to the instrument readings (especially the pressure gauge reading), listen to the sounds from each part, and immediately stop the machine for inspection if any abnormalities are found. The maximum air pressure in the storage tank must not exceed the pressure specified on the nameplate. Every 2-4 hours of operation, the condensate drain valves of the intercooler and storage tank should be opened 1-2 times. Maintain proper machine cleanliness; after long-term operation of the air compressor, it is forbidden to rinse it with cold water

7. When stopping the air compressor, gradually open the exhaust valve of the storage tank, slowly reduce the pressure, and correspondingly reduce the diesel engine speed, so that the air compressor runs at no load and low speed for 5-10 seconds. After the air compressor stops, the diesel engine continues to run at low speed for 5 seconds before stopping. When the temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius in winter, the cooling water without antifreeze should be drained after the machine is shut down
